About The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
The concept for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf stores was born during a trip the founders Herb and Mona Hyman took to Europe. After touring the many outstanding coffee shops throughout Europe, the couple decided to bring the specialty coffeehouse concept to America. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf was established in 1963, opening their first store in Los Angeles, California, which continues to operate today as one of our highest volume and highest profile.
